The Architect and Design Community is charged with an awesome responsibility of not only creating a unique product, but being extremely knowledgeable about the products and costs necessary to “fulfill the dream”. Too often the dreams have a way of eluding product manufacturers because either they don’t know the key contacts, can’t follow the job through its many phases, or they can’t effectively provide the total solution the Commercial Community is looking for.

At Designer Building Solutions (DBS) our research identified that the A&D community was quite often too busy to research all the different product options available from all the manufacturers. Too few of the actual people working on the different parts of a project get to go to the product conventions and the product decisions come from either what the designers are comfortable with or from books on a shelf. And then, many of the decisions by the designers are overturned as the project moves forward and the project is valued engineered.

At DBS, we have developed a Commercial Design Team that specializes in only interior design driven products. Led by dedicated Specification Reps, who first work with the Architects and Designers to explain the nature of the interior products DBS represents, the project is then followed up with dedicated Commercial Specialists who can provide the best Solution for the particular interior application the Architect or Designer are seeking as they follow the project through the general contractor and sub-contractors.

But the process has only begun becasue DBS can help manage every step of the process until the project is completed. DBS can provide the client with a complete fabrication estimating team to help the Architect, Designer or Contractor with cost estimates throughout the process, and DBS can actually manage the fabrication and installation if needed so that a product specified is a product that is used in the project.
